Our Core Values
Welcome to The Magdalen Church of England/Methodist Primary School, our website is intended to provide you with an introduction to life at our school.
As a Church of England / Methodist primary school within the Diocese of Lincoln, we seek to develop a caring Christian community through our school vision:
‘Inspired by William Waynflete and John Wesley, we have a vision to be an aspirational school delivering excellence in learning by being creative, inclusive and resilient so that we can all serve in God’s world to the best of our ability.’

Lincoln Anglican Academy Trust (LAAT) is a Multi Academy Trust which was set up by the Diocese of Lincoln in 2013 to build a mutually supportive family of academies in Greater Lincolnshire who support each other in providing the very best outcomes for their pupils.

‘Inspired by William Waynflete and John Wesley, we have a vision to be an aspirational school delivering excellence in learning by being creative, inclusive and resilient so that we can all serve in God’s world to the best of our ability.’

Leaders have a clear vision for the school. This vision focuses on providing pupils with the best opportunities they can have in life
The school values are central to pupils’ experience of daily school life.

Year 1 have been learning all about robots! Our computing lessons have been packed with fun as we explored programming using Bee-Bots. The children worked in pairs to give their Bee-Bots instructions like forward, backward, left, and right to reach a chosen destination. This hands-on activity was a fantastic way to practise directional language and develop problem-solving skills along the way! Year 6 Get Creative with Anderson Shelters! Our Year 6 pupils have been diving into history and design technology with an exciting project on Anderson shelters. After researching these iconic WWII structures, they sketched their ideas in their art books and then teamed up to bring their designs to life. Working collaboratively, they discussed the materials they'd need (and those that wouldn't work!) before rolling up their sleeves to use traditional woodwork techniques – sawing, gluing and joining. The results are fantastic! We love seeing our pupils combine history, art, and hands-on learning in such an engaging way. Well done, Year Six! We need you! From little acorns, mighty oaks grow. In the first week of March, we will be holding our annual Careers Week, and we'd love your support. We want to introduce our children to a wide range of careers to inspire their dreams and ambitions for the future. To help us do this, we are looking for volunteers who would be happy to visit our classes and talk about their job! If you'd like to help inspire the next generation, please email enquiries@magdalen.laat.co.uk with your contact details. #StrongerTogether #laat #BePartOfSomethingBigger

Exploring Nature – Whatever the Weather! At Wainfleet Magdalen, we believe that nature and the outdoors are an essential part of our curriculum. Our Reception children love learning outside in all weathers – wellies and puddle suits at the ready! Monday's snowfall gave us a wonderful chance to explore the natural world. We investigated freezing and melting, and even became wildlife detectives when we found footprints in our garden that weren't ours! After some careful observation, we discovered they belonged to birds and rabbits! This then inspired the children's creativity back in the classroom. They created 'icy' pictures, learning about hot and cold colours and thoughtfully choosing materials to represent snowy scenes. Outdoor learning helps our children develop curiosity, creativity, and a deep respect for the world around them – and we love seeing them thrive! What an incredible morning for a group of our Year 3 and 4 children! Yesterday, they had the amazing opportunity to visit East Coast Combat Academy, where they took part in an exciting martial arts session led by George, Njega, and Alex. The children loved learning a range of moves and were truly inspired by the impressive skills on display. They left feeling energised, confident, and full of smiles – a real sense of achievement! A huge thank you to George, Njega, and Alex, as well as Callum from the Coastal School Sports Partnership, for making this experience possible.
