Our class is a great place to make friends and learn!
As well as a well-equipped, bright classroom, we have a huge outdoor area with a play house, orchard, vegetable patch, willow tunnel, mud pie kitchen as well as our very own stage! The reception staff are Mrs Mills our class teacher and Mrs Linkman and Mrs Evensen our teaching assistants.
Our weekly timetable is packed with fun sessions, all of which help us to learn and access our carefully planned curriculum in an enjoyable, practical and meaningful way. Sessions include such as ‘Free Flow’, ‘Funky Fingers’, ‘Tasty Tuesday’ and ‘Pencil Pete’s writing time’. We enjoy a daily phonics lesson, following the ELS approach, and we love our daily ‘Maths No Problem’ sessions too! Mrs Mills makes sure that our grown-ups know what we are learning, so that they can help us at home. We are shown how to follow the Ten Magdalen Values and we work hard to earn house points and ‘monster points’ on Dojo.
Our learning is celebrated, using ‘Tapestry’ the online learning journal. Parents and carers are encouraged to look at our learning journal regularly to see what we’ve been up to and to add their own posts about what we have been learning at home. We love sharing our Tapestry pages with our friends in school.
